In Thailand live about 3 millions of migrant workers from neighboring. Most come from Myanmar. Refugees fleeing the military regime and its persecution mostly work in the building.
According to many NGO that helping them, employers regularly pay them below minimum wage. They also encounter difficulties to access health services and are generally subject to discrimination in Thai society.
They live in shacks constructed in camps at the periphery of Chiang Mai City and for those who don't have work permit also live in constant fear to be arrested.
